3 Simple Ways to Drink Turmeric
It is well known that taking turmeric has many benefits for the body. More specifically, people know it for the compound curcumin which is known to have valuable anti-inflammatory properties. But curcumin is just one of over 200 nutrients found in turmeric. It is valuable yes, but it is the sum of all the parts that makes turmeric such a master healer.
Which is why PureXtracts supplies a whole spice turmeric dry extract (extracted as an oil without heat, grinding or processing) so that you get ALL the benefits from ALL the nutrients.
Taking turmeric in this form means no more yellow teeth, no bitter taste and none of that horrible grittiness in your mouth! But if you're wondering how to use our extract, here are 3 simple ways to combine it for some delicious drinks:
1. Turmeric Milk
Turmeric milk has been used in the Ayurvedic system of medicine for thousands of years to cure a whole host of ailments.
Put ¼ teaspoon of Turmeric Dry Extract in a mug.
Heat 300ml of milk (dairy or non-dairy both work) in a pan but do not boil.
When the milk is warm, pour a small amount into your mug and stir through the turmeric extract. Once the extract has dissolved, pour over the rest of the milk.
2. Turmeric Tea
A cup of turmeric tea in the morning soothes your body and stimulates your senses.
½ tsp Turmeric Dry Extract
¼ tsp lemon juice (optional)
1 tsp honey (optional)
Method: boil water and let it cool for 5-10 minutes. Add the other ingredients to you mug, pour over a small amount of the water and mix well. Then pour over the remaining water and stir. You can also let it cool in the fridge for a delicious lemon ginger turmeric iced tea!
3. Turmeric Fruit Smoothie
Combine the benefits of turmeric with seasonal fruits to give your body a healthy boost of nutrients. Perfect for any time of day!
300ml almond/coconut milk
50-60g mixed red berries (fresh or frozen)
½ tsp Turmeric Dry Extract
½ tsp honey (optional)
1 tsp chia seeds (optional)
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
3 large ice cubes
Method: put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
You can include turmeric in almost anything under the sun. But lots of people ask us whether they need use black pepper (typically used to increase the bioavailability) or coconut oil (typically used to help dissolve the ground spice) in the recipes. The Turmeric Truth? NO! Curcumin in its isolated form needs the addition of other substances to help the body absorb it.
PureXtracts Turmeric Dry Extract is a natural, 100% pure oil from the whole root (not just the curcumin) so you don't need to add anything else to help the body absorb all the natural goodness that our turmeric provides.
